Amir Khan knocks out Zab Judah in the 5th round with a punch to the balls
Written by Ranjit Kumar Sunday, 24 July 2011 03:58

Amir Khan (26-1, 18 KOs) knocked out Zab Judah (41-7, 28 KOs) in the 5th round of their unification bout on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the win, Khan unified the WBA and IBF junior welterweight belts.
The fight started with both fighter feeling out each other. Neither fighter seemed to want to put off an extra effort. In the second round, Khan started throwing some punches but Judah showed some speed and made his opponent miss a lot. However, Khan started connecting in the final seconds of the second round and Judah's mouth was bleeding.
Judah showed some good counter-punching skills in the third round that made Khan reconsider his aggressive approach. Khan went back to stinging Judah with jabs and then made some quick follow-up punches.
Judah displayed his defensive skills by slipping and ducking a lot of Khan's punches in the fourth round. However, Judah could not capitalize on his good defense and Khan's weak chin because he was not throwing anything back.
In the fifth round, Judah decided to fight toe-to-toe but was not able to really connect with hard punches, and was being outworked by Khan. A low blow by the British-Pakistani caused further damage to Judah as he went down to his knees and got counted out by the referee who did not see the foul shot.
This fight adds another bad reputation to Amir Khan. He has been accused of ducking top challengers, headbutting his opponents, taking performance-enhancing drugs, and now hitting his opponents on the balls.
