Did Floyd Mayweather Jr come to bring bad luck to Andre Berto?
Written by Angelo Villanueva Sunday, 17 April 2011 06:07

Undefeated former pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr came to watch previously undefeated Andre Berto lose his WBC welterweight belt to Victor Ortiz. Floyd probably wanted to provide moral support to his fellow undefeated slick black fighter but unfortunately, the moral support that Pacquiao gave Ortiz before the fight overwhelmed that of Floyd's.
Ortiz said during the post-fight interview that current pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao talked to him prior to the title fight.
"Manny told me to stick to my game plan," Ortiz said.
Victor had taken heed of the wise words from the best fighter in the world, and that resulted in a huge upset victory over his Haitian opponent who was heavily-favored coming into the fight.
This upset was just one of the series of boxing disappointments hounding previously undefeated fighters. Just moments ago, Orland Salido knocked out previously undefeated Juan Manuel Lopez of Puerto Rico. Last week, the boxing world also saw Nobuhiro Ishida of Japan knocked out previously unbeaten James Kirkland.
Is Floyd Mayweather Jr the next victim of this curse when he finally decides to fight Manny Pacquiao?
