Klitscko dominates Sosnowski, wants Haye next to shut his big mouth
Written by Thomas Clausen Sunday, 30 May 2010 07:27

Vitali Klitschko (40-2, 38 KOs) retained his WBC heavyweight championship belt with a 10th round knockout of Polish challenger Albert Sosnowski (45-3-1, 27 KOs) in front of 60,000 fans at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. It may have yet been another boring fight by the Klitschkos as Vitali was content on keeping his gallant but apparently outmatched opponent on the outside, but it clearly shows the dominance of the Ukrainian brothers in the heavyweight division. Klitschko used his superior skills and size advantage to throw his punches at will that Sosnowski looked like a sparring partner. The fight was clearly a mismatch in terms of size where Vitali has a 5" height and 3" reach advantage.
Klitschko basically played with Sosnowski from rounds one to eight, landing jobs and short left hooks to keep the brave Sosnowski at bay. Sosnowski who is known to go toe-to-toe with his opponents, tried to land his own shots but Klitschko would either lean back to make his opponent miss or he would hit Sosnowski with short left hooks that would impede Sosnowski's momentum. In the 9th round, Vitali started to hurt Albert with a series of hard right hands. Klitscho continued his onslaught in the 10th round, pushed Sosnowski into the corner and then momentarily stunned him with a big right hand on the head. With Sosnowski's back against the ropes, Klitschko hit him again on the same spot with a heavy right hand that sent him down sitting on the canvas. Referee Jay Nady was forced to stop the fight with 40 seconds remaining in the 10th round.
After the fight, Klitschko issued another challenge to WBA heavyweight champion David Haye of Britain for probably the 1,001st time. "I would really like to fight Haye next because I want his title. All he does is talk trash about other fighters. I would really like to get him in the ring to shut his big mouth", Vitali said. Unfortunately for Vitali, I don't see Haye accepting his call. Vitali's win was so one-sided that watching the fight sends shivers down David's spine. Haye would rather be called a coward than to bluff a fight with any of the Klitschkos ever again. Haye is like a wild dog on the streets which keeps on barking at bypassers, but when confronted, quickly runs away scared. A cherry-picker like David Haye doesn't deserve any attention so I would suggest to the Klitschkos to just ignore him as if he never existed at all, then look for worthy opponents who are not from England.
